Vehicle Information

Use KBB's or the NADA Guide to determine the market value of your vehicle.
Insurance policies that cover theft of or damage to a vehicle use the Actual Cash Value, or the present market value, as the basis for valuing the vehicle in the event of a loss. If you have an accident or your vehicle is stolen, the company will pay you based on your vehicle's Actual Cash Value. We suggest you use one of two auto industry guides to help you determine the present value of your vehicle. The Kelly Blue Book or NADA Guide.

Towed Units

Each self propelled vehicle that is being towed must ALSO have its own insurance policy when it is being driven. Click the "I" to the left more information and example scenarios. If your towed units only need to be covered for Liability, please select the option "Liability Extends to Towed Unit(s)". Your policy will provide an extension of liability coverage to any towed unit whether listed on the policy declarations or not.

If you are towing a trailer or another vehicle and wish to insure for physical damage, you must declare it on your online application. Otherwise, any unit you tow that is not listed on this policy will be covered for Third Party Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability only.

Coverage for Theft and other damage to a towed vehicle on this policy applies ONLY if you include a dollar value for the towed vehicle and only when the towed vehicle is loaded on a trailer and hitched to the power unit.

If the towed unit you declare is a boat, motorcycle, or ATV, there is no coverage under this policy once it is unloaded or the trailer is unhitched from the power unit.

If the vehicle you are towing is self-propelled (such as an RV towing an SUV), a separate policy is needed to cover the towed unit while it is being driven.

In this scenario, issue the first policy covering the RV for Physical Damage and Liability (listing the towed unit for $ 0 value), and issue a second policy covering the SUV for Physical Damage and Liability while it is self-propelled or towed.

Coverage Selection

Liability coverage pays for the bodily injury or property damage to third parties in the event that you are found negligent in a covered accident. Liability coverage does not provide coverage for injuries to occupants of your vehicle, or damages to your vehicle. We recommend purchasing a combined single limit of $500,000 CSL or more, due to current Mexican liability laws.
Percentage deductibles subject to minimums.
There are two types of deductibles available: Fixed deductibles; which are $500 for collision and other Section 1 perils, and $1,000 for theft and other Section 2 perils. Percentage deductibles; which are based on the value of the vehicle, but also subject to minimums based on the vehicle type. While the minimum deductible varies by company, the percentage amount for collision and other Section 1 perils is 2% of the vehicle's value, and the amount for theft and other section 2 perils is 5% of the vehicle's value. Note: if you select Vehicle Type, ATV/UTV the deductible will always be fixed at $2,000 for collision and theft.
